album updates: new collaborators, funding, and a twisted album cover concept

tl;dr: secured funding and an amazing co-writer/producer for my album "to build and defend my happiness," plus brewing up some deliciously uncomfortable album art concepts. i’m aiming for an october 2025 release!

hey mi gente!

i got some exciting updates about the album that have me bouncing off the walls like a kid who's had too many malta indias!

first up – drumroll please – i'm thrilled to announce that i'm collaborating with the ridiculously talented ru ramo as co-writer and producer! if you don't know ru yet, trust me, you will. her production style is exactly what these songs need and our creative chemistry is chef's kiss.

even better? i've secured some seed funding! 🌱 this means i can actually do this thing properly – better recording equipment, proper studio time, and maybe even some fancy water instead of my usual tap water and coffee diet during sessions!

speaking of the album, "to build and defend my happiness," let's talk about what's brewing for the album cover. y'all know i love making people slightly uncomfortable (in a good way, i promise).

remember that iconic willie colón and héctor lavoe album "lo mato"? the one where they're spoofing that national lampoon magazine cover with the gun pointed at the dog? ("buy this magazine or we'll kill this dog" – the audacity! 😂) well, willie and héctor took it to another level with "lo mato si no compras este LP" (i'll kill him if you don't buy this LP).

here's where it gets interesting – and a little twisted, not gonna lie. what if, for my album cover, i was both the person holding the gun AND the person at gunpoint?

because let's be real: who's my biggest enemy in defending my happiness? looks in mirror oh... right. it's the bitch writing this post.

it's the part of me that:

• falls into the same toxic patterns

• people-pleases until i disappear

• mistakes emotional manipulation for love

• puts myself at other people's feet hoping they'll pick me up
