hey y’all,
i’m back! i’ve missed writing and connecting with all of you. i’ve been taking the last few weeks to recharge, reconnect, and dive back into our shared space with renewed energy and exciting plans!
where i’ve been
i initially said it would take two weeks. yet here we are - week three and some change and nothing, huh? well, it hasn’t been for naught! taking a step back has given me a chance to reflect on the journey so far and how this creative project can continue to grow, especially in a sustainable way.
a special thank you to those who took the time to fill out the survey! i’m still gathering your input - please take the time below to let me know your thoughts!
what’s coming up
there’s been a little bit of a change in plans and i am excited. i want to center this blog around the things i feel most passionate about: giving the world my “hot takes”, shining light on things that matter, sharing my music and poetry, and uplifting my two favorite areas in san diego - hillcrest and university heights.
so here’s what i offer moving forward:
on mondays, i will alternate between sharing a personal essay or a deep dive - moving the deep dive series from tuesday to mondays.
on thursdays, expect to celebrate the weird and wonderful with our one queer thing series as usual, with occasional content highlighting local issues, politics, or events in hillcrest and university heights.
and occasionally on saturdays, when the muse strikes, i’ll keep sharing my obsessions of the week with the sparks of the week series, or sneak peeks at my original music or poetry.
the good news is that it’s not that big of a departure from the original plans!
condensing the posting schedule will make this way more sustainable and that way i don’t overwhelm you with content either.
looking ahead
i’m committed to making this blog a beacon for queerness; a place where i can express myself and create and have fun with all of you. i want this to be a beacon for our voices and our stories.
i’m developing a lot of different ideas that are getting me excited - so this will be an ever-changing journey, prone to adjustments as i figure out what works creatively. because, honestly, if it’s a tuesday night and i want to post an ad nauseam rant on puerto rican politics, or highlight something in hillcrest, or rant about escape rooms (yes, i have range!) - i will, and you’ll get to read it.
i’m incredibly excited to rekindle the fire and creativity, the journey continues.
thank you for your patience, your support, and your passion.
you make this a safe place for me, you help make creating seem more worthwhile. let’s kick off this new chapter with a bang - stay tuned for my next post coming on thursday!
until then, stay inspired and keep reaching out. your stories and insights are what fuel this journey.
with all my gratitude,
edgard 🧡
some choice memes that have made my week
i can’t possibly be the only one that’s constantly losing the remote and then asks, shrieking like a banshee, “where’s the fuckin’ remote?!?” i can’t be the only one that then finds it right under themselves… one day, i’ll beat the allegations. let me know in the comments if you’re like me - or aren’t!
honestly, if another billionaire wants to challenge the titanic to a rematch for last year - maybe take your ugly ass cybertruck with you, too. at least elon can’t recall it from the depths.
y r the cyber trucks SO UGLY like u had so much money to make them NOT UGLY
I'm glad I'm not the only one that "loses the remote"
