Jean, good point! I dropped the ball in explaining. Assemblyman Chris Ward also has a bill that will help redevelop the DMV site in Hillcrest that kinda goes hand in hand with the Plan. You can contact the Assemblyman to indicate your support of the bill and to encourage him to also publicly support Plan Hillcrest.
The bill is AB 1635, and it passed its first committee hearing last I heard, but could still use more support. The bill would redevelop the Hillcrest DMV site into an affordable housing, a replacement DMV, and community benefit mixed-use project that will complement the Plan Hillcrest with additional input from groups like the Uptown Community Planning Group.
